The Audacity of Perimenopause
As a 42-year-old Black woman, my health journey has been complex. After years of suffering with heavy periods, I had an endometrial ablation that stopped the bleeding but left other symptoms. When perimenopause hit, I finally got hormones checked and started HRT. Now I'm sleeping better and hot flashes have calmed down. Ladies, why are we so quiet about these things? We deserve doctors who listen. Our bodies aren't betraying us, they're changing, and that deserves respect.
